Cute & Quick Project

2 comments:
Here is a cute and quick yoyo flower project...
sew simple, cut out circles, fold in half, srirch a running stitch on the curved side, cinch knot and
 then start another, and a 3rd and a 4th and a 5th...
then fussy finger shape into place, knott off.. TaDa!
I made 2, addedto the back side, a 'pin backing' attached to a small piece of felt and then glued the felt to the backside of the  flower..
Now I can change out the flowers on my hat or where ever...

A messy sewing room = a happy sewer/crafter...
messy messy... fun fun... 'sew' many projects...
on the plus side, I have enough projects to last me for the next 20 years...
I actually though about cleaning up and organizing my room, but who am I kidding,,, I'll just make another mess... lol!
I finished up 2 of these, the 1st one I just mailed off as a gift.
I also finished up this cute quilted trailer banner...
Gotta love a messy room... lol!

Look What I Found and Made...

No comments:
Look what I found while searching through my fabric stash...
I had bought this apron fabric panel 4, 5 or 6  years ago,, not sure why or where...
I love the cute daisy print complimented with the fun dots...
It took about 45 minutes to cut, stitch and iron it... Love quickie projects...
Then I saw a cute idea on "Pintrest" for a yoyo flower,,, and , well I just had to make one,,, so  I did!
I folded a fabric circle in half, stitched along the curved side and then make 4 more.., which I stitched together and then stitched a a button to the center..
Super cute and easy.
I luv days like this when I have no plans and have fun puttering...

And then some Pink...

I have a 'Flowering Qunice' tree,,, or so, that is what I have been told...
Not only is it a profusion of pink blossoms,,, but it smells heavenly too...
The Bees and Bumbly bees love it!
Not sure how old this tree is,,, our house was built 35 years ago,, so I can only guess...
the flowers are so pretty and delicate looking...
and the Bees are busy buzzing around all the blossoms...
can you spot the fat bumbly?
I am so amazed how wonderful these little blooms smell... sort of like a lemon-lilac blend.
and oh the flowers themselves are sooo sweet... I am tempted to cut a small branch and place in a vase of water,,, to adorn my dining table... but then I would feel selfish taking sweet nectar from my happy Bees...

out front by the Spruce, a lone Tulip popped up.....
and the grass is tall and green much to the joy of Kiki kitty and Ginger the wonder pup...
Now to add some color to all that green...

Crafting and Fresh Lilacs.....

1 comment:
With cloudy weather one might as well hang out in ones craft room...

I stitched up this to hold my cell phone while charging... I got the idea from (the purple & blue one below) the internet...
I modified it a bit, and I stitched a casing to insert a piece of doweling at the top, to keep the holder from sagging, I also  added the pocket pleat to keep the phone from leaning to forward....

this is the idea I spotted on the internet., notice how the cut out circle sags..... I wasn't to crazy about that... so the doweling I inserted gave it strength...
I made this sweet little  pouch/envelope... these are quick and easy to make and perfect to store things,, like bobby pins or jewelery.
Well, my table is starting to look like a mess... heeheehee.....
I decided to get caught up on some UFO's... un-finished objects of crafting...
quilt toppers, pillow cases etc...
I finally got around to adding the back, batting and binding to this 20" x 20" pinwheel...
adding the binding, and then to hand sew the binding down...
then I got to work on this little runner... a deer friend sent  me this fabric  about 3 years ago and sadly she passed away 2 years ago,, I just couldn't bring myself to do anything with this fabric until now...
I top stitched around each trailer block, then added the backing and binding... now I have a wonderful memory of my friend...
Oh and last but not least,,, I decided to 'upholster a light switch plate..
fabric, decopage' medium and then a quick coating of varnish...
I love decorating switch plates...
Ah and then to make a few more pillow cases,, one can never have enough of them...
Both are out of flannel fabric...while I bought the cute trailer fabric with a pillow case in mind,, I was digging through my fabric stash when I discovered I had enough scrap fabric to make the  green one...
and last but not least,,, I went out and cut some fresh Lilacs to scent my kitchen...
