Here we are,,, the weekend again... , I was tidying up in my sewing room and came across this little object d'art that I made about 12 years ago.. I photo copies a vintage pattern and then decopauge' it onto a board, added ribbon for hanging.
I am participating in a Bunting/banner swap over on the Maryjane Farm Forum,, and made this for my swap partner.. I like the crisp look of French Provence' ... and so I used the colors of Blue and yellow.
I made the 'Mug Rug' to match the theme of Tea, Lavender and Provence'
I made a lavender sachet but forgot to lay it in with they bunting for this photo.
sorry for the terrible photos... I really should buy a new camera..... any how, you get the idea...

Well we have a few days of rain in our forecast.. so I will probably find more projects to do in my sewing room to keep busy...
Happy Weekend.....

Running Quail Ranch...

1 comment:
Welcome to ... Running Quail Ranch... after 2 years we finally decided on a name for our 13 3/4acres ranch...... With all the quail that habitat around here.. this is so fitting...
My garden is perking up.... the tomatoes, peppers and onions are doing fabulous...
the beets are doing good too... I will be canning them for my hubby who loves sweet/pickled beets.
I also made some more face masks.. I have them down to a simple system and can stitch them up pretty fast.
As for the new water Well,,, we are thrilled, to have struck a good source of water... now for the 2nd half... waiting for the hook ups,,, first trenching for the new water lines, and hooking up the electrical and the pump,, if all goes according to plan, hopefully by late next week we will be up and running with our own Well.

Have a wonderful weekend...

Yippeeee...New Well and Blooming Peonies

2 comments:
What a great couple of days,, The Drillers came yesterday and started drilling for our new well... and
Wahoo! we have a fabulous source of clean, ice cold water and a good 10-12 gpm...
Here, they are getting ready to set up and drill... they finished up today....now for phase 2, the hook up of the lines and pump and then we will be all ready to enjoy our new water source.

On the internet I spotted an idea for an apron made from a man's shirt... so I bought this shirt from the Thrift store for  .99cents, washed and dried it.  Ironed and cut the shirt apart...I used the back of the shirt for the apron front and I used the front of the shirt for the straps. I even cut the pocket off and re-attached it to the apron,
what do you think?.. I used my Serger machine to sew the apron, and I found just enough of black lace for the front neckline.
I criss-crossed the straps and sewed on snaps in stead of sewing on button and button holes.
I even wore it, while making French Toast for dinner..  it is simple, utilitarian, and best of all,,, it only cost  .99cents!
Don't mind my kitty,, she thinks she should always be in the photos...

I am so happy, my double blooming Peonies are in bloom... and the pale pink peonies should bloom any day now. I have lavender around my Peonies... the Bees are in Heaven!

I have always been fascinated with Whiskey Decanters.. even with mismatched or lost stoppers...
I took this horse from an old Trophy, painted it red and added cork to the base as a stopper.. and with a bit of beaded lace, a broken piece of an old earring and a red rhinestone, I blinged up the front.
I also like to decorate my decanters with old jewelry and 'what-nots'......
These can also make a nice gift... fill the decanter with scented bath salt, add a bit of jewelry and Voila'  nice gift for a dear friend.

And now, we are looking forward to a wonderful (finally) warm and sunny weekend.. Hope your weekend will be lovely too.

Little Bling Project for my Hubby...

3 comments:
I had bought this Sequin Stitchery kit, gosh,,, so many years ago,, and stashed it into my 'To-Do' stash Bin... and finally pulled it out.. 8 or 9 years later!

I must have hand stitched on a Gazillion sequins and seed beads! Not a problem,, there was a Downton Abby Marathon on the PBS channel.. so I stitched and watched...
(click on the photo to get a closer look)

Now hubby  has it hanging on the wall...
Now to pull out another stashed project to work on...

Hacked... Spam...

I am suddenly getting 'Spam'  comments on my Blog from several different sources....
Why must people be so invasive and try to ruin a simple friendly Blog..
The spam is only on this Blog, not my Trailer one... Whew!

I have reported them and blocked them... I hope this was just an isolated incident.

That is why I have "Admin approval"  instead of direct post.
Thanx for stopping by...

While working around the property and in my garden,, I still manage to get in a wee bit of creative time..
Yesterdays project,, 2 wee little Scotty Dogs...
I made a matching pair of little Scotty dogs,,,, and the best part...
I had enough scrap Seersucker fabric left over from a project from 10 years ago,,
I have always been a fan of Seersucker fabric, ever since I was a little girl...
I have probably have enough of the fabric to make several more Scotty dogs... or?

I also finished up a small table topper,,, (over sized placemat)
I used up every inch of the 3 scrap pieces of fabric to make this... but I had to go to the fabric store to buy backing fabric... naturally!
I still have to more mini quilts to finish (add backing and binding).. and a wool stitchery project.. but that is for next week to do  between garden and house work...

Hubby and I cut up Lic. Plates to make a new Garden sign..

We are going to make one for our daughter,, now to go hunt up some more Lic.Plates...

Happy Thursday....
