Once Again,, I have been Lazy!

1 comment:
Again,, I have let to much time lapse between posts...
I have no excuse except that I am forgetful and lazy!

With the on going Pandemic World Wide,, I spend more time reading the News, looking at others Blogs and dreaming of creating a fabulous Victory Garden.

But I do manage to spend time in my very messy sewing room...
So,, here is what I have been up to.
I have been playing with my embroidery machine,, as my little companion keeps watch over me...
I made this wee little table topper for a very dear friend..
I came across an old 1953 Sears catalogue,, Look what fabric cost...
Using the same pattern, I also made some 'mug rugs' for a Farm Girl swap. The little round sachet is filled with Lavender from my garden.
My wonderful husband found this sewing desk, complete with a working Kenmore sewing machine.. for $7.50.. yep! you read right!.
but, I prefer my Husqvarna... so the Kenmore is underneath. I actually have 3 machines set up for use,, this one, my Singer 406A and my Singer Feather weight.
I stitched up yet another apron,, just a simple utilitarian apron...
I also made a bunch of felt Lady Bugs... I don't know why,, I just did,, they were easy projects to work on while watching T.V.
I bought some more machine embroidery patterns...and am having fun with them.
I plan to use this design to make Tags for my sewing/quilting gifts.
Here is another mug rug... I love Embroidery machine for quick projects...
This is a Wool Felt project I recently finished up... not sure what I will do with it...
and YOYOs.. lots more YOYOs... actually I plan to make a Table Topper with them...
Hubby brought these home for me,,.my soon to be 'Raised Beds' for gardening...
I am also using these smaller ones for my carrots and the blue one will be for Herbs.
I made myself a new calming pillow,,, with lavender and rice... so I can heat it in the microwave for aches or cool it in the freezer for use for headaches.
 and bunnies... lots more bunnies!
I snag out the colors from my treasure trove of YOYOs to create the perfect Bunny!
Easter will be very different this year,,, with Social Distancing,, we will not be gathering with family and friends... but thank goodness for Face Time, and telephones...

And like so many others,, I have been making face masks for family and friends...  my hubby and I do wear ours when we are out in public when we have to go to the Post Office or market..
Otherwise, we stay home and stay safe.

Stay Home, Stay Safe and remember,, this will pass and we will be able to be together again, but until then, God Bless....

Little Yoyo Project

No comments:
I am working on a quickie YoYo project...
using recycled linen, and attaching yoyos on them..
this is 'eyelet lace. not to very old....
I stitched matching yoyos around the edge.. I was going to add little buttons on the yoyos but it made the Doilie to heavy.
This was an old stitchery piece,, sweet little blue birdies...
I gently hand tacked/stitched on the yoyos so I could take them off later if I want to .

The Horse next Door...

No comments:
Ok, so the other morning,,, while out feeding the birds.. this is what we say...
These crows have been hanging around,, and found that 'Keria' is in need of a good grooming..
the kept pulling up tufts of shedded hair.. probably to line their nests with.
and Keria seems to enjoy it...
And this Highland cow is the latest and newest resident at the Beeler Ranch just down the road.

Gotta love our 4-legged neighbors...

Lil Felt Ladybugs Awaiting Spring...

No comments:
I stitched up these wee little Ladybugs..  hoping Spring will be here soon...
We are suppose to have another round of snow this weekend.. so I guess I will be spending more  time in my sewing room, at least until true Spring weather arrives...

Keeping Busy...

1 comment:
I have been keeping myself busy as I wait for Summer to shine over us..
I get into crafting and sewing mischief... I bake scones to snack on and I go Junktiquing  when ever I can..
a little machine embroidery.. and KIKI kitty checking out my work...
stitch up some YOYOs...
notice the cup of tea,, I like to enjoy tea when I am in my crafting room...
found  some Koolieo magazines (1961  and 1970) and a 1953 SEARS sales catalogue..
I had no idea back in the day,, you could send your gloves out to be laundered..
I also joined in some Farm Girl Swaps.. This one is a State Post Card and magnet swap.. I like to include a few goodies too. Notice how the magnet matches the crocheted dish cloth..
Some goodies I made for a friend..
and this is a Mug Rug swap.. I made using my embroidery machine. I also am including a lavender sachet and some tea (not pictured)
I scored a box of 'stuff' for $7.00.. which included a stack of pre-stamped 100% linen and cotton stitchables.., like a mixer cover and coffee perculator  cover, also a cigar box full of embroidery floss.. notice the orange tropical fabric??? I can hardly wait to make something with it.. It is only 36" wide,, but I have 4 yards so I am certain I can get into some mischief with it!
I have tons of floss,, but finding an old Cigar boxes is a real treat!
This 45x45" table cover with 2 matching napkins is pre-stamped with a cute Rooster design.

but the best find was these 2 package apron kits.. the pink fabric is also a kit but it was not packaged.
here is what you got for .29cents.. pre-cut fabric, flat bias tape and simplistic instructions.
also in the box of stuff was a tapestry knitting needle case, full of knitting needles, crochet hooks and embroidery hopes..
I love rescuing stuff...  and since I do not knit, I have several gal~pals who do,, so they will get the knitting needles.. as for the hoops I have some avid cross stitching friends that the hoops will go to.
Love to share the wealth..  So, not bad for $7.00  :>)
