Or maybe little 'jackets' for slender glasses?
Or at the whimsy of a crocheter, maybe just a practice project.
I am thinking of running very thin satin ribbon through the holes and
then fill the little "pot" with lavender, cinch closed & tie a bow to secure it.
I love a good crafty mystery.
Very interesting. I would just be guessing too but maybe they are mason jar trivets. I can't wait to find out!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea, perfect for your lavender. A older lady friend, (can anyone be older than me?) used one when she went to the bar to keep the sweatie, cold glass from touching her hands. Some people...God bless her soul.
ReplyDeleteMy Grandma used to crochet things like that to cover the bottom of glasses and protect the table from the water that would sweat from the glasses. She also used to crochet the cutest bottle warmers that looked like french poodles to cover liquor bottles.
ReplyDeleteThose are way too cute....good find.

Sue
Wow, flashback!! My "gramma" used to make those for our anodized aluminum glasses that came in a buncha cool colors - she made the holders to match each glass. What a cool find! Joyce #425
ReplyDeletePerhaps old-time May baskets for May Day. You never hear it mentioned anymore, but when I was little, we always delivered and received May baskets. Shery Jespersen
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know either, but that's a good idea!
