Groovy Swimsuit Cover-up

No comments:
Ok, I have a affliction for fun vintage mid~century modern everything... including clothing...
Needless to say, I have discovered a Koolieo shop in Spokane, called Spokane Vintage Warehouse..
I have purchased numerous vintage linens and Bark Cloth as well as clothing...
This is my most recent find...
This is a terry (towel) cloth swimsuit cover-up... with crazy fringe trim and a very bold print!
I even found a nose plug in the pocket... lol!
I laundered it and now it is with my other fun vintage clothing..
I also found this cool Bowling Shirt...I posted about it on my trailer blog.
It was a great day Junktiquing with my sweet hubby!

Crochet Afghans...

2 comments:
I came across this lovely afghan while out 'thrifting' over in Rathdrum, ID...
I washed & dried it and it fluffed (and felted) up ever so nice!
I started to think,,, that this is possibly crocheted from a natural fiber as opposed to an acrylic one...
I took some cast off fibers, and lit a match and the fibers burned & singed... not beaded/ melted so now the question is,,, what type of fiber? wool?, alpaca? or bamboo? or?
I do know that it is snuggle soft and warm and very heavy... and will go great in our larger vintage trailer.,,, that is, if I can part with it... lol!

Frienship and Straws...

2 comments:
It's all about friendship... and straws.... lol!
I have been having one of those 'weeks'... and I just have been negligent in keeping in touch with dear girl friends... when out of the blue one of my special girlfriends called to check in on me...
Her timing could not have been any more perfect....
We reminisced, we gossiped, we laughed, we solved the World's problems and we made promises to meet up along the Trail and share a glass of wine (or two!)... We also vowed that when we are 92 we'll still be friends, we'll just have to use 'straws' to drink our wine out of our glasses!
See,, that is what friends are for... to make you laugh,,, when you needed it most...
Hugz to you dear EllynAnn,,,, may the apron strings of our lives keep us together always.
EA = NTOOD....   :>)

Still WIndy...but....

Ok, I almost forgot to share with you my latest find.... Happy Dancing!
Oh My Stars! a baby moccasin stitchery kit!  The 'material' is like a faux suede. It's never even been opened and someone had attached a fat-eyed needle to the package....
Then there was this item, yep, another stitchery kit, a stamped cloth, white floss and misc. items... This package also has never been opened... Guess what it is.....
A APRON! I am giddy with delight!.. and the original price tag was for $2.99...but had a red line drawn through it, and $1.40 price written on the tag... How koolieo is that?
Ok, now to go finish doing the Happy Dance!

I HATE Winds!

1 comment:
SO much for the break in our weather... today we have had horrid 30+ mph winds accompanied by rains!
Did I mention,,, I HATE Winds?! aaacck!
But on the plus side, it kept me indoors. down stairs, busy puttering...
I came across this sweet little cross stitched, framed verse that I had bought at a local Thrift... I need to read it more often!
Hope your Wednesday is not as windy as mine! lol!

Break in the Weather...

No comments:
It's been raining Off and On...
We are having a break in the weather... the rain is greening everything up...
yep, before long, hubby dearest will be out on the tractor brush hogging the property.
The little house in the distance belongs to one of the oldest families out here who settled this area just after the turn of the century. The Simchuck's are one of 3 families that settled this area and still live out here and surrounding area. This whole area was cleared and farmed for wheat, alfalfa and other grains, but is now speckled with small ranchettes with horses, alpacas and goats.
How things change.....

More Felties...

My dear neighbor made these wool felt cuties for me... she is the one who got me hooked on wool 'penny rug' crafting.  The grey owls are re-purpose from an old wool skirt....the pink from a wool jacket I found at a local Thrift shop. The lil pillows are pin cushions.  Easy peasy...
