Dinner at Our German~American Club

1 comment:

What fun it was to cook dinner for 70 plus people, both members & guests at the Spokane German~American Club.

I was fortunate to have an awesome "crew", my daughter & her husband and our very dear friends, Patty & Duane.

As always, I am the one behind the scenes & the camera, but just visualize me covered from head to toe in flour & gravy.... and loving it!
And yes, we all wore our "kitchen armor" ~ our aprons!

Welcome our newest member of the Brown household... our Kabota L2800, tractor w/a 'Drink Cup Holder'... Got to have a holder for my martini glass...LOL!

We now will be able to plant the fruit trees & lavender we bought as well as work the soil for my little Victory Garden. I am so surprised at how easy this thing is to drive,,,,I will probably be out on it while Gary is at work, just to putter around our property...we are fulfilling our dream of owning land and being able to grow a small self sustaining garden.

Life on the Farm is good!, especially now that all the snow is gone!

Also, as you can see, my Tulips are brightening up my front entry and today Gary is laying the grass seed in the area in front of the Tulips. If the deer do not eat my Tulips & soon to be new lawn, I will be tickled pink!

"Green acres is the place for me, Farm living is the life to lead, Land spreading so far and wide, Keep Manhatten...just give me that country side" (1960's T.V. show~ Green Acres).

What a wonderful weekend I had at Maryjanes Farm in Idaho !!!

First my dear friend Debi from California arrived and then we got together with another dear friend, Julia...we enjoyed a glass of wine & a bag of potato chips! ah! the all American snack! LOL!

The next day Debi & I headed out to Idaho to go spend the weekend at "Marjane's Organic Farm" with some other wonderful farm girls. We had a blast eating, gabbing, making rag dolls, learning how to do Tatting and then a trip into town for a local craft fair! I love these kinds of weekends where I can be a "girl" again. Thank you Maryjane for making this happen!

In the group picture starting left to right is myself, Sheri, Joann, Katy, Emme & her two sweet little girls, Taylor & Natty, Amanda, Brenda, Heather & Debi. Lyn was not in the photo, sadly her father-in-law became ill and she had to leave early. Hugz to her & her family.

Here is a picture of my rag doll that I stitched, I have named her "Lucy Grace", but now I need to make Lucy Grace a friend so I will most likely make a quick run into town this week for supplies. Oh, I also learned that as much as I tried, I am "Tatting Challenged" but I am not going to give up that easy!
