Here is the 4-1-1  on us,,,
We are temporally living in a ginormous 5-th wheel ,,, as we searched and found a home,,, well small Ranchette, that is...
We are now in Escrow on a 14ac property with a small 1766sq/ft house... we are down sizing on house and upsizing an land.. Wahoo!
I don't have any good photos yet,, but soon as I do,, I will post them..
We had an Inspection done yesterday,, and the house, is in good shape,,, just needs some freshening up (paint/flooring etc.) which we will have done before moving in.
I do want to do a bit of a remodel to the kitchen and master bath... and have new windows put in.. but that will be next years projects...
The house is 32y/o and we are the 2nd owner...

In the mean time,, hubby and I are waiting patiently for Escrow to wrap up... and hopefully we will be moving in on Nov.1st... fingers and eyes crossed....
needs a little love and TLC...
30x40 metal barn-perfect for storing my trailers in.
the view out back.. and 14ac of that is ours!

Hollyhocks and Surprize Packages...

1 comment:
Saturday I popped into the Post Office to pick up my mail out of my P.O. Box,,, when what to my surprise and delight sis I find... 2 packages,,, Oh MY!

The first one was from my dear friend in Oklahoma,
In the package was a sweet flour sack towel from "The Mercantile" in Pawhuska,, which is owned by Ree Drumming, author of "The Pioneer Woman" (cook book)...
I was so excited... as I so enjoy her cookbook.

The 2nd package was filled with goodies from another dear friend who lives in Colorado.
Oh what goodies! vintage pillow cases, an apron, and fabric...
is this cute or what!?!,, Kitchen Diva fabric...
this apr was most likely hand stitched in the 1950 or early '60's...
and only a true crafter would be giddy over fabric scraps,,, perfect for mini quilts and what nots!
Now I just need a day to myself to play in my sewing room!
Happiness is having such fabulous friends....
Thank you Devine Mz E,,, and CeeJay... you both are the 'katz meow!

More Crafty Projects....

1 comment:
With the weather being so hot as it is,,, I spend more time in my sewing room then I do in my garden...
Whish isn't all that bad....

I made a 'Tag Blanket'  which is about 18" x 24" and perfect for a 3-6month old infant.

Then I made Chef aprons for my grand kiddos,,, I made 2  of them out of 1 pillow case and embroidered the girls names on them....

but I was able to find a decent sized of scrap fabric to make one for my grandson..
even found a button with an anchor design,,, perfect for the sail boat fabric.
Now to go iron them....

And today I made these pennants to create a banner for my grand-son who is 6 and loves Mickey Mouse.
I need to buy some cording or ribbon to hang them on.
I love the cute Mickey cartoons in the primary colors.
Well I think I am all caught up for craft projects,,, well for today anyway.
I need to shop for some cute fabric to make my 2 grand daughters  a banner for each of them.

Killing Time Creatively...

1 comment:
I had some time to kill so I rummaged thru my wool craft basket and decided to make a 'wool feltie' as I like to call them..
then I searched 'pintrest' to find this 'quote' and I did and lookie what I did after printing it up...
I embellished it and then laminated it...

attached some ribbon and now it's on it's way to it's new home...
and today,,, I made a "'pack of wild ponies for the pasture"... ok, so they are not wild and they are not going out to pasture,,, but they are going to be cute drink straw covers..
they will be headed up to Spokane in a few weeks.... they are my version of (mini) Stick Horses...
I got the idea from an old 2005 Better Homes and Garden magazine.

what a great way to use up scraps of felt and bits -n- pieces of ric-rac...
I love making wool felties projects,,, great time filler and cute lil projects taboot!

Playing Hooky Again....

1 comment:
One of the nice things about being retired,,, is you can play Hooky any and every day you want to...
So we did,,,
Since Yosemite National Park is just 45 min up the road we took the dog and headed up there to get out of the 100+ heat...
we stopped off at Look Out Point... you can see the famous 'BridalVeil Falls in the back ground as well as Half Dome mountain...
Ginger was happy to be along for the ride....
We stopped off in Wawonna Valley to enjoy the creeks and wildflowers...
All in all, it was a good day to play hooky!

Melting Kat and Hollyhocks...

2 comments:
It is soooo hot today,,, my poor cat is melting... lol!
poor 'mamamoo'... she is slowly melting on the chair,,, we are now in the 100's degree weather.. oh joy!

Last year a friend let me dig up a couple of Hollyhock seedlings,,, one survived the winter and this is what it did,,, mind you, it was only 2ft tall when I transplanted it.

as for the Flamingo,,, it loves it's location.... it scares the quail away... lol!

And More Aprons....

No comments:
I had some down time,, while the new flooring was being installed,,, so I stitched up 3 more aprons..
unfortunately the true colors are a bit washed out,,,
this one is more of a teal/purple and rust color... the floral part is a giant pocket, stitched down the middles and a small hankie pocket  is on the one side...
this one is a combination or rose and burgundy,,, again, washed out photo.... I trimmed the little pocket with pink ball fringe...
and as always, yoyos to trim the waist band...
I love using up scraps  of fabric...
