Advent Sunday,

Yesterday was the 3rd Sunday in Advent... a soft snow covered landscape, and a quiet relaxing day. But it was a tad windy to keep my Advent candles lite, so I eventually brought them inside..
Just 10 days until the Eve of Christmas... To our family and friends whom we won't be able to visit with this year for Christmas and New Years Eve,, Stay Safe, Happy and very Blessed.

First Advent Sunday...November 29th, 2020

4 comments:
Happy Advent Sunday.. I forgot to post photos last Sunday,, so here are both last Sunday and this Sunday..
My Oma,, use to use fresh branches each week in her Advent wreath,, I recall her saying it was to be safe and prevent fires because of the dried branches... SO this year I decided to do the same,, but also to move my Advent wreath to different locations, not just limited to the dining room table.
Sunday December 6th Advent
It was a lovey day eariler,, so I took my Advent wearth outside... I am sure the Quail hiding in our Spruce trees were watching me,, and probabliy wondering why I hadn't put out more seeds for them. (I feed the Quail twice a day).... Today, I will turn on all the Christmas lights before dinner. It gets dark by 4:30pm... On Friday and Saturday, the lights go on after dinner. Have a Happy and Joy filled Sunday...

Let the Decorations Begin!

4 comments:
Well... I decided to start the decorating festivities a bit early... I usually wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving.. but since everything is different this year because of the Pandemic.. I thought why not be different too! I actually put up my white Christmas tree with all white and sparkly decorations... the next day,,, I took it down! pretty but just to plain! So instead I put up my red tree,,,with white trimings.. much better. I will post some photos,, but my camera is old and the quality of the photos are not so good..
Oh good stars! I just realized, I hadn't taken any photos on my camera,, I guess I will do so tomorrow and then post a photo of the tree..
love my small collection of Nut Crackers,, it's the German in me.
I only put up 3 of my mini trees,,, normally I have them all over the house..
I have also par'ed down my woodland scene...
I will try to get some better photos and when I do, I'll replace these.. but for now,, let the Christmas decorating festivities begin! HoHoHo!

Because of the COVID-19,, we wear safety maskes out in the public, shopping and visits... This will be an interesting year for all the Holidays approaching.. I decided to make the best of it,, and am making Holiday themed face masks for Gary and I (as well as family and friends) Today I made a cute Holloween mask .. I machine embroidered the mask with a pumpkin on one side and "Happy Boo Fest" on the other side. Gary and I both have eye Doctor appointments tomorrow and the next day,, so why not have fun wearing a silly fun mask...

We are of the mind set,, it is for our self and our family's safety that we wear maskes,, so why not have fun with them,, making masks to suit my mood, my outfits or for Holiday themes.. I have a pattern down pat for my maks.. and I usually just cut a few out and then when I am in the mood,, I sew them up. Here are some that I have finished up.. I have also been relaxing with crocheting towel tops... And from the "Swap" I received the cute rspider web machine stitched ornament.. and I made the Trick or Treat one...

Autumn is Here....

2 comments:
The weather is changing,, from sunny hot days to brisk winds and rain showers... Yes, Autumn is here. That means more time to spend in my sewing room and less out in my garden. I am playing with making simple machine embroidery ornaments with wool felt backing... I am currently working on Holloween ones, I made 2 of these,, to send to friends. I have some more cute Holloween themed embroidery designs to play with and then I will move on to Thanksgiving and of course lots of Christmas designs..

A day of simple sewing...

4 comments:
Well this weekend was a very relaxing and enjoyable sewing weekend... I made another stash of face masks which have been mailed out to their new homes... I also made some reusable,,, reversable bowl covers. perfect for covering rising bread dough or to keep pesky-nosey pets from trying to help themselves to what ever snack is in the bowl., And last, I redesigned my machine embroidery stitched ornament.. I made the new one by stitching it onto a wool felt backing.. which I like much better. I was thinking, what a cute gift the bowl topper would make for a friend who likes to bake.. Hand made bowl cover, bowl, wooden spoon and a package of bread, scone or cookie mix,,, assemble and attach a cute note or recipe card to the recipient. I still can't figure out the new blogger system,, but for now, I will muddle through so please bare with me... so I wi;; post the pics below.

Good Bye Blog,,,

2 comments:
I am so sad, but am probablly not going to be posting on Blog anymore... I can not get any help from Blogger in spite of all my requests.. When I try to post,,, all all I get is 1 line.. and can not see what I have typed and when I add photos, they print up in crazy format that takes nearly the whole page.. it is sort of like typing in Brail.. I have no dea what I have typed until I post and go back and look,, but then when I try to make corrections, the page only shows one or two lines and I can't get my cursor to click on the spot, so I have no idea what I am typing..so I think my days pf blogging are over.. I no longer can see who is in my reading list, so I will miss reading my blog friends posts. It was nice while it lasted.. if I can ever get help from blogger I will gladly return, but until then,, Peace be with you...

OK,, MY Blog account is Wacky!

My account is nothing like before,, Idon't know how much longer before I no longer can access my blog account, But while I can, here goes,,I am stitching up some proto type fabric-machine embroidered ornaments,, and in the last 2 photos, is a small 6x8" banner for my cousin who lives in Munich Germany.. Since the Oktoberfest has been cancelled due to COVID-19, I thought he could place this somewhere
