Hollyhocks and Surprize Packages...

1 comment:
Saturday I popped into the Post Office to pick up my mail out of my P.O. Box,,, when what to my surprise and delight sis I find... 2 packages,,, Oh MY!

The first one was from my dear friend in Oklahoma,
In the package was a sweet flour sack towel from "The Mercantile" in Pawhuska,, which is owned by Ree Drumming, author of "The Pioneer Woman" (cook book)...
I was so excited... as I so enjoy her cookbook.

The 2nd package was filled with goodies from another dear friend who lives in Colorado.
Oh what goodies! vintage pillow cases, an apron, and fabric...
is this cute or what!?!,, Kitchen Diva fabric...
this apr was most likely hand stitched in the 1950 or early '60's...
and only a true crafter would be giddy over fabric scraps,,, perfect for mini quilts and what nots!
Now I just need a day to myself to play in my sewing room!
Happiness is having such fabulous friends....
Thank you Devine Mz E,,, and CeeJay... you both are the 'katz meow!

With the weather being so hot as it is,,, I spend more time in my sewing room then I do in my garden...
Whish isn't all that bad....

I made a 'Tag Blanket'  which is about 18" x 24" and perfect for a 3-6month old infant.

Then I made Chef aprons for my grand kiddos,,, I made 2  of them out of 1 pillow case and embroidered the girls names on them....

but I was able to find a decent sized of scrap fabric to make one for my grandson..
even found a button with an anchor design,,, perfect for the sail boat fabric.
Now to go iron them....

And today I made these pennants to create a banner for my grand-son who is 6 and loves Mickey Mouse.
I need to buy some cording or ribbon to hang them on.
I love the cute Mickey cartoons in the primary colors.
Well I think I am all caught up for craft projects,,, well for today anyway.
I need to shop for some cute fabric to make my 2 grand daughters  a banner for each of them.

Killing Time Creatively...

1 comment:
I had some time to kill so I rummaged thru my wool craft basket and decided to make a 'wool feltie' as I like to call them..
then I searched 'pintrest' to find this 'quote' and I did and lookie what I did after printing it up...
I embellished it and then laminated it...

attached some ribbon and now it's on it's way to it's new home...
and today,,, I made a "'pack of wild ponies for the pasture"... ok, so they are not wild and they are not going out to pasture,,, but they are going to be cute drink straw covers..
they will be headed up to Spokane in a few weeks.... they are my version of (mini) Stick Horses...
I got the idea from an old 2005 Better Homes and Garden magazine.

what a great way to use up scraps of felt and bits -n- pieces of ric-rac...
I love making wool felties projects,,, great time filler and cute lil projects taboot!
