Last Day in January...

3 comments:
Today I had the house pretty much to myself (hubby went metal detecting) so I decided to pull my sewing machine from my craft room and set up a sewing area in the kitchen where the sun was shining from the window...
We have been having partly sunny but mostly cloudy days this past week and I needed a little sunshine.. So first I set up a couple of bright happy Mums in little shakers on the window sill.
Then I finished up a festive Christmas table runner quilt that I had started in the early Fall...
I love the  Mid Century Modern design...  So, does this mean I am late for Christmas 2014 or uber ahead of myself for Christmas of 2015... lol!
Then once this was finished I started on an apron which will be a Valentine gift...
It's a simple but sweet pattern... even my little peekaboo kitty likes it...
and yes, as always,,, I have to have a 'yoyo' on it..

Hopefully tomorrow will bring more sunshine and if not, you can be sure I will find some mischief to get into!

MY Week in Spokane

2 comments:
Well I managed to sneak away from sunny Central California to fly back to Spokane, WA., for a week visit with my beautiful daughter and 'cute as pie' grand~kiddos...
I wish I had more time to spend, but quit honestly, after a week of non-stop kid fest, this Oma is pooped! lol!

Yep, there was snow on the ground and nope, it didn't slow me down for a minute when it came to junktiquing and meeting up with my gal~pals...

Chaps Bakery & Diner was my place of choice to meet up with some of my Glamping gal~pals,,, our favorite go-to place for food and laughter.

My daughter Meri and I had 2 solid days of Junktiquing,,, and yes, I had to mail 2 good sized boxes...FULL, back to California... hope I get to the Post Office before hubby or I will have some explaining to do! lol!

I also got to go check out Celeste Shaw's sweet shop called Lucky Detour, I love all the fabulous goodies.... Lot's of fun architectural elements and the cutest little coin totes made from vintage linens.

Well as they say, all good things must come to an end, and before I knew it, my 7 days was up and I was on a plan back to hubby and kitties....
I love getting away but I also love coming home... so until next time,,, Happy Trails!
 Flying over Washington, Mt. Rainier
 Shopping at 'Lucky Detour'
Checking out my favorite camp ground, Riverside State Park on the Spokane River..
My 2 grand-girlies,,, their little Brother was not interested in having his photo taken..

OMG! look at what I scored today...
My day started off with good news and bad news,,, the Bad News... the Airlines called to let me know they had to cancel a few seats on the flight I was to be on,,, The Good News,  they re-scheduled me for the next day to fly out and.. I am receiving a $200.00 voucher, to use on my next flight..
Whoot Whoot!
Then a wee bit later my hubby is perusing our local mountain 'sell-swap-buy' sight and spotted a Singer 'Featherweight 201' sewing machine,,, SCORE! great condition, sews great and only $100.00
Now I finally have a 'Featherweight'... I am so,,, I mean,  I am 'sew' excited!  Whoot Whoot!
Ok, now to go play with my new-old machine.   (1953 year)

Fabric Tags...

1 comment:
With all the UFO's that I have stashed in my sewing room,, did I work on any of them today... Noooo!  In stead I started another little project to keep me busy while I waited for some return phone calls...
I saw there little 'Tags' in a 2007 Issue of Quilting magazine and decided to make a couple.
I made  these for 3 of my friends and 1 for myself...
I had a hard time trying to photograph them, this is the best I can do... but you get the idea...
And what a great way to use up bits-n-pieces of bead trim...
I plan to attach mine to my Carry-On bag when I fly to Spokane next week...

I Got side Tracked...

No comments:
With all the UFO's I need to get caught up with,, I get distracted easy...
while looking through my stash I found this apron pattern, and so I dug through my fabric stash and well, need I say more???..
I have actually have made this Quilt Apron,,, about 3-4 years ago...
now it goes into my UFO pile until I can find some coordinating fabrid to make the waistband and tie sashes...
Then while searching for something else in my sewing room I found this 2/3 finished  Scotty stitchery that I started about 2 years ago... ok  now it is done.. well almost,,, I need to decide what to do with it,, make a deco pillow or frame it... what ever I do, it will go into my Serro Scotty trailer when it is finished.

Working on Some UFO's...

I am notorious for 'starting' projects... and even more so for not finishing them up!
So this weekend was my weekend to get a few "UFO's" completed,, or at least almost completed...
a decanter waiting to be Blinged up...
a retro fun table runner quilt,
 a Pinni~apron,
 a bibbed Wine theme, apron...
flannel table runner and mug rug...

Tada! go some of them assembles, and others finished off....
Blinged Whiskey Decanter (I removed and painted a Horse trophy and added a cork)
All stitched together, just need to put the backing on and bind it...
Wine theme apron is ready to be worn...
 Daisy Kingdom pinni, front side...
 and the back side...
this is the flannel table runner, I need to back and bind it...
and a sweet 'mug rug'.....
I love it when I start getting UFO's completed...
