What's in a Name...
I was having way to much fun "shopping" through my 1965 Montgomery Wards catalog when I came across this...
Roller Blades or In-Line Skates....
I had no idea they were around in the mid 1960's...
I remember them in the 1990's, I even bought a pair, took a couple of good spills and decided Roller Blading was not my cup-o-tea!
I guess they did not go over to well back in the '60's... it's all about timing... but they hit popularity by the 1990's.... at $19.95 that might have been sort of steep for a fad that faded out to not reappear again until 1990....

What Do You Get...
What do you get when you take a .99cent frame, a .99cent well worn belt from the Thrift, a handful of Rhinestones...
why you get a rustic looking photo frame....
I borrowed this idea from a magazine... unfortunately I don't remember which one!
I stained the frame then took this very well worn belt and miter cut it... unfortunately because it was worn with thick and thin spots the miter did not come out perfect,,, so I glued on the rhinestones and Voila! who cares if the miter is perfect! :>)

More Fun at the Funny Farm
Today's silliness involves a bunny, a kitty and me chasing after the kitty...who is chasing after the bunny....
our resident bunny.....
Peekaboo kitty checking out the bunny...
and they are off!
Peekie... hay mom, I chased off the big mouse....
I am sooo exhausted.... chasing a big mouse is tiring work.
Not to worry, the bunny is back in the barn safe and sound with 1/2 an apple to atone for Peekie's transgressions...

More Junktiquing...
The hubby and I had 2 hours to kill before going to a Pot Luck...so we decided to hit one of our favorite Junktique stores... 'Spokane Vintage Warehouse'...
I found some terrific goodies...
yep, another vtg. mixer, this one is a 'Dormeyer'. A ceramic bowling pin vase, 2 vtg deco pillow covers and 2 vtg. T.V. trays which I forget to take a photo of.
I also found the (on left) 1964 Sears catalog... while hubby found the (on rt) 1965Montgomery Wards catalog.. both are a treasure source of information.
I love a good day of Junktiquing!

Vtg. Catalogs
Oh My Stars! how lucky am I to not only find one,,, but two mid 1960's catalogs!
I found a 1964 Sears catalog and a 1965 Montgomery Wards catalog... SCORE!
What a great resource for graphics and styles of that era.
1964 Sears and 1965 Montgomery Wards catalogs, in great condition.
I had no idea you could by 'Bark Cloth' and 'Sail Cloth' via the catalogs.
I noticed in the 1964 catalog, most of the models were clad with matching shoes, handbag, gloves and hats... but in the 1965 there were less gloves in the photos... a sign of the times to come?
Matching His and Her shirts... ya right, like my hubby would wear a matching shirt! lol!
Oh how I wish we could still purchase replaceable seat cushions for my chrome chairs.
and last but not least,,, imagine my surprise and joy when I spotted this page....
yep! mine cost me $20 at an Antique shop in Santa Maria, Calif. back in 2oo5.. but it was only $14.50 brand new... in 1965... I actually use mine for storage of my tea bags, wine corks, and other goodies.
I have a feeling I will be spending a lot of time perusing through my New/Old catalogs....
