A Little This and a Little That...
I was able to sneak in a little creativity this weekend...
2 lavender wands, using my own lavender cuttings...
Then I made a sweet little lavender filled Mug Rug... I used a downloadable embroidery pattern, some scrap fabric and wool felt and of course some of my dried lavender buds,,, so sweet.
hmmm, I think I need to go fix myself a sweet cup or tea now!

4 Mini Quilts... and 100 degree Weather!
When the temperatures hit 100 degrees, I go hide out in my sewing room... well it has been super hot these past few days... so I got a lot of sewing done...
This one is for my neighbor back in Spokane, Washington...
Andrea loves wildlife and rustic nature...
I attached square 'yoyo's' on it....
Then I made one for my friend Pam,,, who loves Moose...
Pam and Ray just got married in April...
Then I made a wild leopard print one... for my mom....
I wish my photos were better... but the colors in this one are fun!
and last but not least... I made one for my beautiful daughter... Meri...
I call it "Meri's itty bitty Minki"
for those days when she needs a hug from me...and I am not near.,..
I embroidered, "Mother, Daughter, Friend, I Love You." on the back side.
Hmmm, if it continues to stay hot, I'll get a lot of sewing done! maybe even get some of my unfinished projects finished up!

Silver Polish...
Am I the only one left on the Planet that enjoys polishing Silver?
I have been given many pieces of silver, from goblets to tea and coffee service sets... and everything in between... from family and friends and what I am told is,, they don't like to polish silver..
Well bring it on! I love looking at the intricacies of the art work... I wonder how it was used, did the original owner ever use it, was it a gift? Oh if only the silver could talk...
I do keep a lot of my silver pieces wrapped in flannel cloth and in an air tight container or zip bags.
Doing this slows down the tarnishing process... but then if you use your silver on a daily or at least weekly basis that to keeps the tarnishing at bay....
I don't recall who gave me this pot,,, but I use it to hold (silk) flowers.
Sometime I will set one on the entry table by the front door... just because I can!
As you can see, here is one holding flowers... but the best part, is the pedestal that it is on.. This pedestal came from my Oma's home back in Germany... I know it is at least 60 years old.... and it has been dragged back and forth from Germany to the USA several times at least 4 times... and now it has a permanent home with me... Thank you Oma and mom...

Crafting Time...
I got to spend some time in my crafting room .. and well... busy hands equal happy heart...
I found this plain match box holder at the Thrift, spray painted it, decoupaged it, blinged it and Voila! a cute Trailer Trash Match Box holder for my vintage trailer.. (this makes #4 that I have decorated.)
Then I dabbled in 'salvaged art' and made these key chains using old wine corks, washers, eye hooks, buttons, charms and some glass beads... I designed these 4 for some wonderful friends...
Then I spotted this idea on the Internet,,, I modified it and here I have 2 custom tea cup cozies aka coasters..
I went through my scrap bin of fabric and came up with these.. I used felted wool between the top and bottom fabric... I machine embroidered their names,,, and I re-cycled some cross stitchery from an old damaged linen...
I actually had fun making these... so easy peasy... I can add a sweet mug or tea cup with one of these, a tea bag or two and give as a gift...
Hmmm, I think I need to make one for me too!

Christmas in May...
Recently hubby and I were at a local Peddlers Fair... and yippee,,, look what I scored!!!
I LOVE these vtg. plaster light-up Christmas trees... I have several in my collection from 12inches up to 2ft tall... I even have one that has a music box inside it.
I just love the glow they give off ....
But, they are a bit difficult to pack away ... this one however has it's original box... and from the graphics (based on what I could find on the internet, this one is pre 1970's....).. so it is a bit easier to pack away... and it had it's Star and all but 3 pegs... not bad.... as the pegs are usually the easiest to loose..
Then I found these sweet cut up bits of stitchery,,, wish I could have found all 7 days... I think I will incorporate these in a little table runner or make two, 2-sided deco pillows with them..
I have washed, ironed them and now they are waiting to be re-purposed...
I just love the bonnet on the bicycling kitty... So sweet.
