I am a Sew-in Sew....

I have been up to my eyeballs in apron sewing projects...
I stitched up 4 cobbler aprons...
 and 8 Bakers Style aprons...

the purple one below is the a reversible apron...
I also have 1 more cobbler apron waiting to be stitched up and then I will work on making some easy market tote bags like the one below.
When I am in the mood to sew,,, I just enjoy it...

  1. Well if great minds don't think alike! I sewed one of those Japanese knot bags (your market tote) for my sock knitting Sunday but still need to press and hand sew closed and I used interfacing which made it a bit fiddly to sew and it didn't "iron on" well at all. I'm just getting back to sewing after years and years so it could be me! LOL! Also, I have been wanting a "retirement uniform" and one of the best things for me, I thought, would be a cobbler's apron. I could not find a pattern for one after spending a lot of time yesterday on the net searching. The one I want buttons down the front and they have them at Harriet Carter for like $8 or $10 dollars so I thought I would order one and deconstruct it for a pattern. I know it's probably really simple but I'm not a great seamstress. We are definitely on the same wavelength right now! I do have company coming at the end of July so I was thinking of also sewing those pillow slumber beds for the grands but there are 3 of them which means 15 pillows and about 15 yards of material.....hmmm...could get pricey! I'm off to Wally World today so I'll check their prices. What's next on your sewing agenda? Did you see my post about the Wardrobe Architect series? Have a great summer!

  4. Yep, the aprons are for my lil shop. My shop is only open for the summer (tourist season)... but I am finding that it is interfering with my "getting into mischief time" !!1 lol!
Gary and I are there Thurs to Sun.. and I so enjoy the other fun vendors in the Village where my shop is.. On Fridays, after we close for the day the other vendors and us(Gary & me) meet at the little restaurant for our private food and gossip fest. Great group.
