More Jean Purses...

2 comments:
Ok,, I had such fun making the first couple that,,, well I had to make a few more...
this is the completed Jean skirt re-purposed into a tote/purse... the bake side has fancy stitching and the edge where the ruffle is attached has sequins all the way around....
it's hard to see in the photo, but I did a tonal on tonal of blues for the straps as well as the lining for this purse. attached a tatted dollie and YoYo...
the back side is already Blinged up so I didn't have to do anything...
for this one I used a tan/brown fabric for the lining and straps.. added some YoYos and bling...
on the backside, once again I didn't need to do anything except add a YoYo.
but here is the best part.... The brand name on these jeans is "Grace"... how Koolieo is that!?!
Well,,, now I have to move on and get back to my quilts,,, but this was a fun project...
Don't forget to click on the photos to enlarge them for better viewing.

Another Jean BOHO Purse...

3 comments:
ok,,, I am having way to much fun making these BOHO jean purses,,,  (click on the photo to get a better view)...
I made the first two and found another cute pair of jeans to re-purpose into yet another purse...
this one is a bit smaller then the first two  that I made...
the back pockets are sweet with tiny rhinestones.. but I could not get them to photograph well...
I lined the inside using a drapery weight toile fabric... 'Hounds & Pheasants...

Sooo, what's a girl to do when she needs a couple of Birthday presents... why she hit's the nearest Thrift store and buys a couple more pair of jeans...
I found this pair of "Grace" jeans(yes, that really is the Brand name and I might have to make this one for me! I luv the fun rhinestones on the butt pockets...
then I found this pair of jeans with multi colored stones...
and then I spotted this lil skirt,,, and thought,,, why not? surely I can re-purpose it into a purse.
Now, Off to my sewing room to have fun!

Fun with Jeans...

4 comments:
Oh what fun one can have with re-purposing a cast off pair of denim jeans...
Several years ago I cut and stitched up 20  denim stocking (like the kind you hang for Santa over the fireplace)... All were done in a western theme...

Last year I took a jean pocket and turned it into a little shoulder tote, Just big enough for my cell phone, lipstick, drivers Lic., and some cash...

And today I re-purposed another pair of jeans into a BoHo tote/purse...this one is for me! The one I made several weeks ago I made for my grand~girlie.
Here are the 2 for my grand~girlies....(now stuffed with Barbie doll clothes)....
I made the darker on one the left.... but the lighter one on the right, I found at a Thrift Shop for $2 so I changed out the straps that were on it and added the handles..
Both grand~girlies are happy...

For me,,, I made this one....the fabric is hard to see, but it is Hawaiian floral in purples, peach and greens...
the pockets are perfect for sunglasses and cell phone...
I made the ties/straps long so I can lengthen or shorten the shoulder straps...
I lined the purse and added a cute belt buckle to the front...

and this is the lil purse/tote I made from a Jeans pocket.... the nice thing is the front pocket buttons closed. I stitched on a piece of denim on the back to drop in my cell phone or sun glasses...

Even with 2 meetings and doing taxes this week,, I was still able to get 7 quilt tops (lap quilts 42x42) stitched up,,, (still need to put the backing on...another day's project),,, I also stitched up a bunch more mini aprons and a wine bottle apron and last but not least I crocheted a rag rug...
Tonight,,, I will chillaxe and enjoy a lovely glass of wine....
wine bottle apron sitting on the rag rug....
These lap quilts are for 'Covers of Love' a group that I belong to, we quilt/crochet quilts and afghans for the VA shut-ins as well as children who are removed from unsafe situations by Child Protective Services... and also small blankets and beanie caps go to the Neo-natal unit at the local Hospital...
I love knowing that a little bit of 'me' is going to someone in need.....
