Un-orthodox Apron...

Ok, so I wanted to create a unique apron for a b-day gift...and this is what I came up with...It is totally different...all the seams are raw/exposed and after sewing theses aprons I washed & dried them in the machine to give them a more 'ragged/chenille look. You will have to click on the picture to get a better view....I probally was suffering from an overdose of java when I came up with this idea! lol!

An other sewing machine!!!

Ok, so I am up to 9 sewing machines, & 1 mini serger.... 2 of the sewing machines are new machines, 1 is my grandma's treadle, one is my mom's old Elna from the early 1960's and the rest are wonderful vintage finds. One of these days I will line them all up and do a "group photo".

My newest one, my hubby & I came across this weekend at an antique shop that we happened by (on our way to pick up another antique chair at a different shop) long story short, we found this lovely 1950's? all metal Singer in it's mid-century modern style cabnet that someone had painted that antiquy aztec 1970's gold-yuck!...My hubby stripped the seat which turned out to be Black Walnut and the sewing cabnet is Mahagony... SCORE!!!!! and the machine sews lovely! I am so excited.

I am not sure about the circle/ring thingy-maybe to hold spools of thresd?

Hubby says I have my "quota" of vintage machines...we'll see!

I "talked" my darling & very good sport, hubby into putting on one of my aprons to get in the mood to draw a winning name from my vintage blue flower hat. I spent for ever trying to decide which hat to use!

Ok, I felt bad that only one name would be drawn so I had hubby draw one more name for a special surprize gift and that winner is ,,,,more drum roll,,,, "gafarmgirl". I'll contact you via email for your address too!

Mini "Apronisms" Book Giveaway

It's time to share my good fortune.

More Fun Projects.

I love my 2nd Hand Store chair...but it did not look like this when we brought it home...it was painted black w/a white seat cover-ugly to say the least, but I knew it had personality,,,so my sweet heart of a hubby totally disassembled the chair, striped & sanded the chair then stained & reassembled it. I happen to have this fabric left from an other project. It and some new padding made a perfect seat cover.

The cute Bistro size Table Topper is a collaberation of talents...a dear sweet friend (Jessica) from MaryJanes Farm made the blocks & I assembled them. I also have a pot holder to match but forgot to include it in the photo. (click on the photo to get a close look).

Oh, and my sweet little "Sissygirl" kitty say's the underside of the chair looks nice too!
